Cat's ears are sensitive and prone to irritation and infections.  It is important to examine them regularly to clean them if necessary. The procedure consists of eliminating impurities present on the internal walls of the auricle and on the temples to prevent them from becoming lodged in the ear canal.Maintaining good ear hygiene helps prevent inflammation and the development of bacteria.

 

The frequency of ear cleaning depends on several factors: morphology of the cat (specific ear shape of the Scottish fold, Highland Lynx, American curl breeds), state of health, propensity for more or less increased earwax production.

 

The cleaning session is performed on healthy ears. If your cat shows signs of pain (head down or leaning to the side), scratches this area intensely or you notice abundant dark secretions inside its ears, consult your veterinarian as soon as possible.
